[CASL-L] Elementary

Good Morning!

I would like to participate as well. I am in a PK - 3 building, and will be traveling to classes, similar to Jane. My time with students in classrooms will be the teachers' prep period - 50 minutes with each class; 30 minutes with each PK class (x 4). I will be on a cart with Chromebook and scanner to check books out to students in the classrooms.

We will be using SeeSaw with K and Grade 1 on iPads, and Chromebooks with grade 2 and 3.

The library will be used as office space for the Specials' teachers, because their rooms are reassigned as classrooms.

Thanks for a great idea! Looking forward to it in these interesting times!

I’m pre-k through 2 and I am also interested in sharing! Great idea! We are doing something different where I will have only 4 classes at a time for 2 weeks (meaning kids would have the same special for 2 weeks) and then would switch to a different special for 2 weeks. Kids will “order” (place holds) on books through Destiny either in class or at home with their parents and we will essentially become Amazon and deliver books to classrooms each day to keep them off the shelves.

What a crazy time!
Amber

All,
It seems that admin is starting to release schedules and right now I will be in the classroom for K-2 library classes so teachers will have a prep period. My library space will be utilized for 2 ALP classes. I am hoping I will be given their old space so I could have a home base to plan, record lessons for remote classrooms, as well as to video conference into grades 3-5, and to facilitate various experts via video conferencing.

I am looking for other elementary media specialists who are interested in contributing to a bank of lessons that will work with this age group. I need to tweak some lessons from last year since I know that materials will be limited...as far as anything that is shared In the past, I had classes for 1 hour which I loved because we had a lesson, maker activity, and book checkout. As of now, I have no idea what the length of time will be for this new model. I suppose whatever the contract dictates for prep time.

Let me know if you are interested in giving and taking lessons that will fit this new model.
Jane
