The Connecticut Library Consortium, Inc. (CLC) is a statewide non-profit
cooperative library service unit serving over 800 Connecticut libraries of
all types (academic, public, K-12 school and special) by helping them serve
their users more efficiently and cost effectively. CLC achieves its
mission by negotiating and facilitating group discounts on critical library
related products and services, managing regional cooperative programs,
creating and supporting timely educational and professional development,
and fostering innovation.
CLC is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated CLC members to join our diverse
Board of Trustees. Our Board of 15 is comprised of library leaders from
all types, sizes and geographic areas in Connecticut. We are seeking
members who can represent the needs and interests of their library type,
size and geographic area, can think strategically, are willing to advocate
for CLC and Connecticut libraries and who can meet a commitment to actively
participate and serve for three years. CLC board meetings are usually held
on the 4th Thursday of every month at 2pm in the Middletown Library Service
Center, Middletown, CT. Board members are required to attend the majority
of the meetings including the Annual Meeting (usually June) and cannot miss
more than 4 meetings a year. Members who cannot attend in person have the
option to attend by telephone or videoconference.
Requirements:
1.
Nominations may be made by the individual or another person.
2.
A nominee must be a CLC member or join if selected to run.
3.
Nominees must be willing to serve for a three-year term (June 2020
through June 2023).
