How about Moxie or The Nowhere Girls for an empowered response to sexist culture?

I know this is being nit-picky, but instead of saying you're looking through the lenses of feminism, racism, and ableism, maybe you might phrase it as sexism, racism, and ableism?

Jason Reynold's When I Was The Greatest has a central character who has Tourette's Syndrome. That might be a choice for a book that shows with how people with disabilities face challenges.

Hi Jen!

I would suggest Dear Martin for racism and Clap When You Land for feminism. Their relation to OMAM may be a stretch, but they're great reads nonetheless.

Good luck!

Hello everyone! I'm in need of Hive Mind ideas!

One of our English teachers wants to do a book club centered around Of Mice and Men. This will be with her 10A and 10B classes.

The premise is to have 10th grade students read OMAM while also bringing in Book Club groups that read an accompanying text that explores one of 3 lenses that relate to OMAM. My 3 lenses are: Racism, Feminism, and Ableism

Any book suggestions that would meet this requirement? She is looking for 3 texts for each lense.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!
