Our school is using Google Sites. It’s a great epaper.

Subject: [CASL-L] school newspaper

Hello-
I know this may not be library related but since I'm a school librarian and have been talked into doing this, I'm thinking some others may be in the same situation.

I have decided to take on the task of running the school newspaper. This is my first time doing this. Has anyone here run a school newspaper? If so, would you be willing to give me some suggestions?

Can anyone recommend a good newspaper template that can be used with Google Docs? It does not have to be free but has to be user-friendly.

So far, I have 22 students interested in joining which is very exciting. We have our first meeting this Friday.

This is how I am envisioning it. I'm just not sure of the best way to do it. We may only get one out this trimester but are hoping to get two or more out the third trimester.

  * reporters who interview staff, students, community members about a news event
  *   sports reporters
  *   photographers
  *   comics
  * regular columns of some sort
  *   editors
  *   layout crew
  * book reviewers (will most likely have my promote reading club members submit reviews)
So, basically, I'm a little overwhelmed with beginning this task. Suggestions on how to manage it all and stay organized would be very much appreciated.

Thank you so much!
Kim
