[CASL-L] YA Books/Publishing

Hi Kim,

We are grades 5 & 6. I have a small YA collection (my higher level 6th
graders tend to take these books out more - usually 2nd half of the year).
None of the books contain content that is too inappropriate for these
age groups. I do let the students know that parents may not want them to
take out YA books but that is their choice (parents and students) to
decide. I do not have permission slips. Perhaps if a younger student
wants to read something more appropriate for 8th graders, you can call home
or email to discuss/get permission for that student prior to checking it
out to them. Not sure if this would be feasible in terms of time...

Respectfully,
