Hi Elaine,

We have partnered with our public library to use Kanopy. Teachers who are local residents get their own library media cards to access it. The school libraries have their own cards for nonresident teachers (one card per school). We have just begun this partnership so I can’t tell you how successful it will be. The limitations are 8 downloads/month per card. You can use the same download for 72 hours. After that you have to use an additional download. I don’t know how many teachers have gotten their own cards yet. I am slowly rolling out the program in order to have as few people sharing the school card as possible. We have very strong partnerships with our three local public libraries (I am proud to say that!). There is no charge, however, we are strongly encouraging users to make a donation to the library earmarked for Kanopy as the library pays per download. We don’t want to break their budget!
