Thanks for all of these terrific ideas, Anne & Alyse. I read *Isabel and
Her Colores Go to School. *It is in English and Spanish. This book does a
wonderful job of connecting words and feelings with different colors. Since
it's the beginning of school, students can relate to many of the feelings
Isabel had and/or helps them work on empathy skills. On the second day of
the lesson, I did an iPad activity using the DoodleBuddy app. It allows me
to teach lots of iPad skills to my 1st graders and they have so much fun
drawing objects and connecting them with feelings, while practicing tech
skills.
