Katie,

Brian's suggestion of *For the Record* looks like a more accurate fit since
you requested court proceedings; however, I'd like to suggest *365 Days to
Alaska

which
is also MG and about divorce. Here's a blurb I wrote for a program in my
school:
"Family, friends, and a crow all figure into this story about 6th grader
Rigel who has recently been relocated from off the grid in Alaska to the
suburbs of Connecticut after her parents' divorce. Talk about feeling out
of place. She is counting down the days (365 to be exact) until she can get
back to Alaska with her dad."
