The Devil's Arithmetic is a great movie- I've used it several times. Completely age appropriate.

While that film is rated for younger audiences, it is a problematic story. Unlike Night which is told by a survivor and centers the experiences of the oppressed group, Boy in the Striped Pajamas centers the dominant group's narrative, and by telling it through the eyes of a young child of the privileged group, it minimizes the horrors.

Hi folks:

A 9th grade teacher reading Elie Weisel’s Night with his classes is looking for a companion movie.

Schindler’s List seems a little heavy and it’s often shown in AP Euro.

Any grade appropriate suggestions?

Thanks,

Matt
