Good morning!

We recently met with Becky Brent from Book Break/Library Speakers
Consortium about an author talk series opportunity. This is a paid
subscription; however the program/opportunities look incredible. You and
your school/district can consider whether the program is worth it for your
students/teachers. Some great incentives to join by May 31st. Details are
below.

Below are 2 demo author events and associated resources to give you a
better idea of the program Book Break is envisioning:

   - Alice Faye Duncan on *Memphis, Martin and the Mountaintop*

   - Kate Messner on her popular *Over and Under* series

Here is a list of all of the authors confirmed to speak for the launch of
the program so far: Katherine Applegate, Mac Barnett, Phil Bildner, Matt de
la Peña, Kate DiCamillo, Alice Faye Duncan, Shannon Hale, Alan Katz, Hena
Khan, Jeff Kinney, Minh Le, Kate Messner, LeUyen Pham, Raùl the Third, Dan
Santat, and Kelly Yang.

An additional incentive is that for each school that participates, a school
in a high poverty area (80-100% FRL) of Connecticut will receive Book Break
for free.

If you would like further information or to sign up, please contact Becky
Brent at becky at libraryc.org.

Sincerely,
Jenny, Val, and Laura
