[CASL-L] Looking for book suggestions (on American literary movements)

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me find some options for an English teacher at
my high school. This is what he is looking for:

"I've been looking for a book that contains a full survey of American
literary movements. I don't need one with the actual literature, but
something more like essays and analysis as to how literature developed in
America and has shifted from era to era. The only things I can see are like
Norton and Heath anthologies, which I already have."
