Hi Suzanne,

I have a Multimedia Communications Class at Somers High School, and we
prerecord our daily morning announcements. We use WeVideo to edit, add
banners, music, corner images, or other videos. WeVideo can be a little
glitchy at times, but the benefit of it is that it's pretty easy to use,
multiple students can edit at the same time, and it's web based so it's not
tied to a specific device or account. I set up a YouTube playlist and
uploaded the announcement videos to it each day. The link was posted in our
school Google Classroom so everyone had access to it, and teachers would
click on the link and show that day's announcements during their period 2
class.

Here is the link to last year's playlist if you want to see how it was set
up and check out what WeVideo is capable of. We switched formats due to new
equipment about half way through the year, so I would suggest looking at a
December/January video and an April/May video. Spartan News Network 23-24

That being said, I could use some advice, too. My class is not running this
year ($30,000 worth of grants and brand new equipment- no students 😵‍💫)
yet I'm still required to create daily announcement videos. Any suggestions
as to how to do this? Before and after school don't work, having it as a
club doesn't work, so my thought is to see if students will sign up to come
record for 10 minutes during lunch and I can edit from there. I'm open to
any ideas and I'm not above bribery.

Have a great weekend,
Tenley
