Good Morning!
CASL is partnering with River Bend Bookshop to launch a pre-order campaign
for Pablo Cartaya’s upcoming book, A Hero’s Guide to Summer Vacation
<https://www.pablocartaya.com/books/A-Hero-Guide>, releasing on May 6, 2025.
Everyone who completes this form <https://forms.gle/DKk68HgagnAFfUmj8> will
receive a customizable flyer tailored to their school, along with a pre-order
link from River Bend to share with students and families.
Pablo will be visiting Connecticut in late April and has agreed to
participate in special events with librarians, teachers, and students
involved in the pre-order campaign. *More info to come about these events
soon. *
*Why should I participate in this pre-order campaign?*
1. The *school with the most pre-sales *as of Thursday, April 24th, *will
have the opportunity to have Pablo visit your school *for a 30-45 minute
author visit on either Monday, April 28th or Wednesday, April 30th! **
2. Those who participate in the campaign will receive an exclusive
invitation to a virtual event with Pablo at some point after "A Hero's
Guide to Summer Vacation" comes out!
3.Pre-sales are REALLY important for an author, so you would be supporting
a fabulous middle grade author!
*What will be required of librarians (or classroom teachers if your school
doesn't have a librarian)?*
1. Customize the flyer that we will send to everyone who completes this
form.
2. Share with your school community.
3. Optional--pre-order copies for your book club, classroom libraries, or
the school library collection.
4. Once the books arrive from Riverbend to your school, hand them out to
everyone who purchased them.
**Riverbend will take care of everything else!**
*Please complete the form <https://forms.gle/DKk68HgagnAFfUmj8>to
participate in the pre-order campaign by Friday, April 4th. *
Also, feel free to other librarians who may not be on this listserve!
If you have questions, feel free to reach out.
