Good morning!
I was told we might be getting new carpet in my small high school library this summer if it’s in the budget. While that’s amazing, it would involve boxing up every book in the library in order to remove all the shelves (none of our shelves are on wheels) since the carpet goes underneath them. I have study halls assigned to the library all day. I’ve been told that I will have only 3.5 work days to box my 10,000+ books/items and “volunteers” who will help. These 3.5 work days include graduation in the afternoon. So for those of you who have had to box up everything and either move or renovate, how much time did it take you? I’m trying to convince my principal that I need to close the library at least during finals, which would give me a week and a half (the only students in the space would be those not in exams AND after exams for study sessions led by NHS), but I’m worried even that would not be enough time.
And this summer I’m NOT coming in even for pay. It’s been a CRAZY year (092 internship) and I cannot do it to myself.
So I need advice; please help!
Liz
