Hello,

My name is Sarah Robertson and I am a member of CASL as well as a graduate
student at Southern Connecticut State University working towards my masters
in library and information science with a graduate certificate as a school
library specialist and initial teaching certification and I am working on a
research study as a part of the graduate program. Please take the time to
complete the survey below.

Thank you again for your participation,

Sarah Robertson

* Good afternoon,  *

Thank you for your participation in this research about school libraries.
The title of this research study is *The Politicization of the School
Library: Book Banning and the Collapse of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
in School Libraries in Connecticut*. The purpose of this research study is
to fill a gap in the current research on book challenges in school
libraries in Connecticut. The number of book challenges has increased
dramatically since 2020 and research in other states shows that this may be
due to increased political pressure from conservative groups. The goal of
this research is to see if school librarians in Connecticut are also facing
increased political pressure.

Participation in this study is voluntary and all of your responses will be
kept confidential. No personally identifiable information will be
associated with your responses to any of the questions. You will be asked
to complete a survey that is approximately 20-25 minutes. You will be asked
a series of questions about your library’s demographics, your personal
political beliefs, collection development habits, and censorship. All
responses are anonymous. The research is not intended to cause any harm,
and you are free to skip the question or withdraw from the survey at any
time. If you withdraw or refuse to participate in the study, there will be
no penalty or loss of benefits. The survey is available through a secure
website.

By clicking on the link below (and above) to proceed to the survey, you
acknowledge that you have read and accepted the terms of use stated
