NEH Funding Cuts Threaten the Future of Connecticut's Digital History
Resources
*Your action is needed to save vital educational resources that preserve
and share Connecticut's history.*
We are reaching out with urgent news that directly impacts
ConnecticutHistory.org and Teach It's ability to continue serving as some
of Connecticut's premier digital history resources. On April 3rd, the
National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) terminated all funding to CT
Humanities, effective immediately.
What This Means
ConnecticutHistory.org and Teach It rely entirely on NEH federal funding
through CT Humanities. These platforms currently serve:
- *1+ million visitors a year* seeking to connect with Connecticut's
rich history
- Access to *over 1,300 articles* documenting Connecticut's diverse
historical narrative on ConnecticutHistory.org
- *100+ classroom-ready lesson plans* used by educators across the state
available on Teach It
While CT Humanities will maintain operations in the short term, without
restoration of federal funding or additional state funding, we may face
difficult decisions about the future of these valuable resources that have
become essential tools for educators, students, researchers, and history
enthusiasts throughout Connecticut and beyond.
What You Can Do
This is advocacy season and your voice matters now more than ever. Here is
how you can help:

and their potential impact on Connecticut's cultural resources. Find
