Good Morning CT Libraries, here is what is going on this week.

CLC HAPPENINGS

There are no roundtables this week...weird. But, with all that extra time you have, maybe you want to check out our newly reorganized webpage on digital resource discounts<https://www.ctlibrarians.org/page/digital>. There is a lot there but we hope this new organization makes it easier for you to find exactly what you're looking for.

And the CLC Board of Trustees meets on Thursday<https://www.ctlibrarians.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1455651>.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

eBooks

  * No updates on HB 6958<https://cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&bill_num=HB-6958> or S.B. 1234<https://cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&which_year=2025&bill_num=1234>. Both have been voted out of committee. So, either one of them - or theoretically both of them - could advance to a full vote in either chamber.

Freedom to Read

  * No updates on SB 1271<https://cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&bill_num=SB-1271>. The new bill language still hasn't been posted.
  * HB 7014<https://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&bill_num=HB07014&which_year=2025> was voted out of committee on Friday. You can watch the committee meeting here<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YPdZQtvFek>. I dare say it was a more thoughtful discussion.
