Hi Jenny & CASL Folks,
CLC has a few alternatives to CultureGrams. I’ve included a summary of each database. Login using your CLC username and password to learn more about the company, database, pricing, and contact information.

INCLUDED IN: K-8 Bundle; Middle/High Bundle; Social Studies Bundle and can be purchased seperately; FactCite Complete Profiles on the countries of the world. Includes extended histories, fast facts, images, economics, foreign affairs, daily life and culture. Also includes a curated list of websites for each country to aid students in their research. Introductory material is appropriate for students in grades 4 and up. More detailed information appeals to students in higher grades. Supports Model UN.

Established in 1997 and entirely online, CountryReports offers more than 35,000 pages of unique, culturally rich content on the countries of the world. Its cultural, historical and statistical information has proven to be valuable to students, parents, teachers and researchers alike. Explore customs and cultures, photos, history, geography, national symbols, economy, population demographics, government, and current events for each country.

Covers 175 countries with topics including greetings and courtesies, gift giving, holidays, superstitions and folklore, history, media, women in culture and business, national cuisine, recipes, sports, stereotypes, maps, flags, religion, and more.
