Empowering Teens: Enhancing Information Literacy through Games and Interactive Programming
Recording ready<https://youtu.be/7HKSq4j9GGo>

You can help your teen patrons become better navigators of the information they find online. Learn how you can offer fun and engaging experiences that bring teens to the library and build their information literacy skills. Researchers at the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public will walk you through programs developed with public and school libraries, including an escape room game, youth video program, and intergenerational learning event.

Speakers:
Liz Crouse is the Education & Engagement Manager at the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public. She has a background in education and librarianship and has worked in New York, North Carolina, and Washington schools as an ESL teacher, language arts teacher, and school librarian. In 2020, she co-founded Teachers for an Informed Public, a group of K-12 educators inspired by the CIP who work to bring information literacy education to their students and communities.

Stacey Wedlake is a Research Scientist with the Technology & Social Change Group at the University of Washington Information School. She explores how digital literacy resources can be better designed as community-oriented solutions to misinformation. Stacey works with a variety of community and academic partners and enjoys creating actionable outputs for practitioners. She holds degrees in Public Administration (MPA) and Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Washington.
