I teach PreK 3s and 4s. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of sturdy
Melissa & Doug type of things to help them gain more background knowledge
for when they do true play-based learning within their classrooms. Most
have been donations.
Lego Duplos, magnatiles, and other building toys
little "stores" where they can create grocery stores, farm stands, flower
shops
play food
doll houses
wooden puzzles
tents - firetruck, rocketship, camping tent, food truck, school bus
pet store toys
dentist toys
pizza shop
Stuff like that so they can have experiences just playing with things I
have read to them about. I teach 12 preschool classes so it's too much for
me to have them create something, but I know they do that in their
classrooms so they get a little practice here before doing it there.
