[CASL-L] CASL-L Digest, Vol 12, Issue 180

We are still a 1:1 district. I really wish it would change. Keeping track
of all the laptops at the end of the year is a struggle. Breaks and ones
forgotten at home happen every day. I asked teachers what they think should
happen and one suggested carts in every classroom. I hesitate on that
though. What do we do when a teacher is out for day? Do I really want to
add to the numerous responsibilities teachers have every day? I jokingly
suggested to our IT Department that we switch to a bring your own device
policy. No matter what type of device you put into a kid's hands, they hate
it and want to use their own. I suggested we do that and families who
couldn't afford a device on their own can buy one of our "pre-owned" ones
at a discounted rate. I was only half joking. I am also curious what other
high schools are doing. I miss paper and pencils!
