Both a little on the older side of the range, but Fish in a Tree or Out of My Mind.  Fish in a Tree is a Nutmeg nominee this year, voting in the spring, so there's that going for it, too.

Hi everyone,

We are looking for one book one school ideas for an elementary school. The model we have followed is using a chapter book that appeals to all levels and providing a copy to the whole school. So far we have used The One and Only Ivan, The World According to Humphrey, and Phineas L. MacGuire Gets Cooking. I'm researching and reading to present a few options to our committee so any suggestions are welcome! We look for books around a third grade reading level but that will be fun and interesting for prek-5, available in both English and Spanish and paperback. If it has a picture book companion that's even better!

I also notice some of you may do more than one book in a year, does that mean all students still receive a copy? If you use a different model than a one month one book one school event can you share how your program runs?

Thanks
