Is anyone else being prompted for public library cards to access in school? Yikes!

Stephanie,
It could be that researchIT CT needs to upate your IP address. I will be in touch with you about this when I return to the office Wednesday.

Subject: [CASL-L] Help?! student Google account autofill turned off.Hi! We have moved from Outlook to Google for staff in addition to students. Staff and students are on the same domain. After admin concern about staff accidentally sending confidential emails to students by accident, sharing/emailing/inviting to Classroom student accounts by autofill has been turned off by IT. It is pretty frustrating to students and teachers trying to use the power of Google but the concern is valid.Neither situation is idea. What are other districts doing, please?I hope this question makes sense!Thanks,Sara--Ms. Sara Chute Hsiang (pronounced SHANG)Library Media Specialistadvisor to National Honor SocietyStratford High School Library Learning Commonswebsite: https://sites.google.com/site/stratfordhighvlc/

Subject: [CASL-L] best author visit EVER!
Hi Everyone,
We just had Paul Griffin, author of Saving Marty and When Friendship Followed Me Home. We were lucky enough to get him while he’s on his book tour for Saving Marty…but OMG! This man is a motivational speaker for kids. He is amazing. Not only is he a great writer, but he has an amazing stage presence, and really interacts with the students. His talks are for middle grades. He lives in New York, and it is not too big a deal for him to come up.
He talked about what it means to tell your own story, had kids completely enthralled. I’d have him back in a heart-beat, and now I’m going to read all his books.
He is a winner!

I agree, 100%!!! He also visited my school today, and spoke to our 7th graders. He was amazing. Totally different from any other author visit I've seen. He reached out to make personal connections with the students, turning their questions back to them to help demonstrate how to tell your own story. I loved that he asked students about the types of books they enjoy, and then recommended books by other authors:-) 300 seventh graders didn't want to leave for lunch!

Subject: [CASL-L] sports books
Good afternoon. I'm on a hunt for great books where the main character is a sports figure. These books will be used in a new Sports Literature class here at Nonnewaug. Please send any recommendations my way. The class has a variety of reading abilities, so any books from an 8th - 12th grade reading level would be appreciated. Thanks very much!
