We have both chromebooks and iPads here (K-5). You can get chromebooks with a touch screen and they are very reasonably priced. The iPads are great and you can do a lot with them, but the chromebooks are easier to manage. The students log in with their student IDs and a simple password. This part takes some getting used to with the Kindergarten, but it is a good introduction to typing.

Hello!

I am preparing a proposal to go one-to-one in the Primary School (Pre-K-2) that I work in. Up until yesterday I had been 100% in support of iPads. After doing some research on the opposed end (required by the district) I am starting to feel like I’m not sure. If you are 1:1 and are a primary school, can you please send me your insights, experience, opinions, etc. on what you love/hate about chromebooks/iPads? Which do you think works better, which is more developmentally appropriate for K-2,? etc.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
