What do you want to learn?

Welcome to Fund for Teachers and our weekly newsletter designed to support you throughout the FFT application process.  Every week, until the January 31, 2018 submission deadline, we will give you tips and inspiration to help you design your own professional learning experience and develop a powerful FFT fellowship.
What does an FFT Fellowship look like? Check out this video for inspiration.
"My FFT fellowship allowed me to be more mindful and to revel in the responsibility – and joy – of being a learner. I had to learn to be OK with not knowing the answer."

-Chris Dolgos, Genessee Community Charter School, Rochester, NY
Planning Tip of the Week
You may already have an idea in mind for your fellowship, or you may have so many ideas that you don’t know where to start. Don’t worry!  That is not unusual.

First, Reflect…

Think about your students:
What are your students’ needs, talents and special interests?
What transformative learning experience would you want to give them?

Next, think about your own practice…
What part of your teaching needs deepening?
In what specific areas do you feel you need more experience or information to maximize your teaching?

Then, Brainstorm…
In what creative ways might this be achieved?
Where might you go?  What might you do when you get there?
Why does it matter to your students that you learn what you propose?

Then, Talk to friends, colleagues or FFT Fellows…
Share your ideas with friends and colleagues.  The more you talk about what you want to learn, why you want to learn it, and where you could learn it, the more ideas you will gather.

Get Inspired!
