Dear CT school library community,
9 elementary and middle school LMS [in addition to dozens of other teacher] positions are slated for January layoffs in Stratford. There are no clerical or paraprofessional positions in the libraries to begin with!
It is obviously a frightening prospect for the staff members, their students, and colleagues; we furthermore wouldn't want to set a precedent for other districts.
On the bright side, it is gratifying to see the community near and far supporting our educators. Please consider visiting, signing, and commenting on this petition started by a parent:
