The teacher could also create a template in Google Draw. I've used that with my students for brochures and infographics!

Subject: [CASL-L] Brochure using Google Drive/Docs
Hi everyone,
A teacher here is planning a project where she'd like her students to create a brochure using Google Drive/Docs.
I'm not aware of a template in there that would let you create a brochure such as with MS Publisher.
I took a quick look in Google Docs, but didn't see that sort of template.
They could do something with creating tables in a Google Doc, but I was wondering if there were another easier way to do this.
Thanks,
Chris Barlow

Subject: [CASL-L] Financial Literacy Speaker for Freshman class?

Hi, everyone,

Do any of your schools have a section on Financial Literacy (student debt, personal budgets, etc.) and, if so, can you recommend a speaker who could do an hour or so workshop on this topic for my First Year Experience class at Tunxis CC?

I would really like to integrate this topic with students fresh out of high school who may not have had preparation on tracking their student debt, expenses, taxes, etc.

Thanks so much,

Lisa

Yes, Slides is a good option. The teacher could also introduce LucidPress. There is a free version and a paid version that allows full integration with Google.

That is the one I used!  But I could not get the boxes to go away so I did a copy & paste all into  a new Slides (resized accordingly) so they would go away.  If you know another way please tell me!
