CASL Members,
I am forwarding information from Susan Ballard, NESLA representative, about the upcoming ALA elections and the importance school librarians will play…please keep the following list handy as you cast your votes for ALA Council and other offices.
Barb
“I am connecting to ask those of you who are ALA/AASL members to be sure and VOTE in the upcoming elections. All web voters will be receiving ballots within the next few weeks (between March 12-14) and we have until April 8 to participate. In particular I hope you will vote for the 15 School Librarian and School Library Educators who are running for ALA Council. Presently, school librarians are under-represented in Council and, as this is governing body of ALA, it’s important that our voice there is strong.
Additionally, AASL Past-President, Helen Adams, who is the current chair of the ALA Intellectual Freedom Committee, has asked for our help in electing members who support IF and I have shared their names, too.
Full disclosure – While I don’t want to come across as a pest, I will be back (probably a couple of times) to remind you all about this because it is so important.
Thanks for your consideration and understanding,” Susan
