Greetings.

My name is Chandra Prasad and I am reaching out to you via the Connecticut Library Consortium.

An established novelist, I recently transitioned to young adult fiction.  My YA debut, Damselfly, arrives on March 27 with acclaimed children’s publisher Scholastic. Damselfly is a modern riff on Lord of the Flies, but with a diverse cast of American teenagers.  The focus is on class, race, and gender.  An original novel with a unique storyline, Damselfly can be read independently or as a parallel read with Golding’s classic. My YA debut has earned high praise from the major trade magazines and librarians/teachers alike (see quotes below).

IF YOU ARE A CHILDREN’S LIBRARIAN OR MANAGE A TEEN/YA BOOK LIBRARY COLLECTION (Grades 8-12), PLEASE CONSIDER STOCKING DAMSELFLY.  As a resident of Connecticut, I am offering COMPLIMENTARY AUTHOR PARTICIPATION IN DAMSELFLY BOOK EVENTS/GROUP DISCUSSIONS ORGANIZED BY LOCAL LIBRARIES.  Depending on my schedule and/or transportation logistics, I will either come in person to the event or participate via Facetime/Skype.

Feel free to email me with questions and to spread the word.
Thank you,
Chandra Prasad
