I would recommend getting some graphic novels and audio books. That way they can use multiple comprehension strategies while they are reading.

Anything by Raina Telgemeir (Ghost, Babysitters Club, Sisters, Smile)
Amulet
Babymouse
Hilo
Bone

Non graphic novel suggestions:
A to Z Mysteries
Junie B. Jones
Goosebumps
Mercy Watson
Rainbow Magic
Magic Tree House
Clementine
Dav Pilkey books (Dog Man, Captain Underpants, Mighty Robot)

Let me know if you want more suggestions :)

I have some really low level readers, many of whom are ESL and I'd like to get them reading more (Some are even struggling with Dork Diaries). Was hoping this group could suggest some high interest/low (Hi/Lo) fiction books for middle school aged kids. TIA!
