Hi Jenny,

The Spanish teacher at our elementary school recommended A-Z Reading (or Raz-Kids).  She uses it with her native speakers. It is a paid subscription, but your district might have it.  Tumble Books might be another resource available through your public library, too.

I love the camera idea Kate suggested. Good luck! :)

This may not be relevant, but when I had primary students who came straight from China without any English, I gave them a camera.  They captured things around the school, at lunch, at recess, etc. that they wanted to learn the words for.  They took pictures of signs, posters, equipment, teachers, etc.  They then made their own "dictionary" using tech with images and we helped with words.  It was awesome!

Jenny, if your district uses Renaissance Learning's STAR tests, you can purchase an add-on vocabulary program called English in a Flash. We use this as an ELL support.

Hi librarians!

We recently renovated our library space and are looking to purchase some frame signage for our aisles.
Can anyone recommend any vendors besides Demco or The Library Store?
Company just needs to accept purchase orders.
Thanks!

Subject: [CASL-L] Especially for NW CT: Fwd: BUY NOW: Tickets on sale for Wimpy Kid Live: The Meltdown Show with Jeff Kinney! 📣
Hello All:  I am sharing this because according to Google Maps, Pine Plains is just TWELVE miles west of Salisbury, CT in the Northwest Corner of CT.
Lots of time to share with your students (and their families) who love the Wimpy Kid series.
FYI:  Multiple copies of these titles were always checked out and/or requiring repair from frequent use in my Middle School Library Media Center!

Happy Reading.
