I have used Culturegrams ( good website but pricey)and Country Report ( very reasonable and good for elementary research). Although the straight facts are fine in the CIA website,  it gives some countries’ data based on our politics in that country.  I am skeptical about using it for demographics.
I used Fact Cite heavily, when I was teaching. It’s reasonable, up to date, and well organized. I would recommend getting previews of all of them to see what fits your students and school‘s needs.

We subscribed to Culturegrams for many years at the high school where I worked, and it was used all the time by a variety of teachers, primarily social studies and world languages.  (Somewhere in the closet there are probably still binders full of the print version, too.)  As far as I know it's sold as a package, so you get World, U.S., and Canada, and all grade levels.  We mostly used World, but every once in a while a teacher would do a project that involved states, so U.S. came in handy.  It was a great introduction to the concept of databases--well organized and easy to use.  And for the price, it was a bargain!

Hello - At yesterday's terrific conference, I was speaking with some people about ProQuest Culturegrams. I was wondering if it is sold as individual modules or for one price.   I am also looking at FactCite Countries and Cultures.  I'd love some feedback from current users.  I'm in a grade 5-8 middle school
Thanks!
