Hi Katie,
Would he consider narrative nonfiction? My two go-to books for reluctant males are

American Shaolin : flying kicks, Buddhist monks, and the legend of iron crotch  by Matthew Polly
The other Wes Moore : one name, two fates  by Wes Moore

I have a sophomore who struggles to find books he enjoys. I’ve tried offering him a wide variety of titles and genres (including some of my usual reluctant reader go-to regular novels, graphic novels, hi-lows, etc.). He expressed frustration recently and told me he just wants to like a book again like he did when he was little L, which kind of broke my heart—he mentioned fond memories of reading Magic Treehouse and the Lunch Lady series. I’m going to order a few Wimpy Kids, which I personally love but don’t currently have in my collection. Any ideas for other titles or series I could try with him?

Thanks!
