Happy New Year everyone!

Greetings! Melissa,

As you can imagine, we have been eyeball deep in all-things-Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCBD) 2019.

As usual, there is a plethora and exciting changes, milestones and victories we’d like everyone to know about.

Sponsorships: We officially closed all Sponsorship levels at the end of December and we are beyond pleased at the variety and quality of both Medallion Level Sponsors and Author Sponsors this year. When you have a moment, check out both pages and see what we mean :)

Book Reviewers: We have 832 reviewers signed up this year! THAT, is a record. Thank you to everyone who signed up to review a diverse kids’ or YA book for the 1/25/19 celebration.

Music Video: MCBD has its first ever music video! How cool is that? Thank you to Annie Lynn and Walt Wilcezewski for donating their time and expertise to create our first official Read Your World Music Video. View it here and you may see some familiar faces and books!

Read Your World Book Jam with the CBC: For the 3rd year, MCBD has partnered with the Children's Book Council for our yearly "Book Jam" and we've officially kicked off this wildly popular month-long series on the MCBD blog. Get a peek at the latest Book Jam post and giveaway here.

Twitter Party! We have announced the date and time for this year's crazy-fun Twitter party hosted by Make A Way Media! As always, we will not only have some great questions to ask but we will also have tons of multicultural children’s books and swag to give away. Here is the announcement post for the Twitter Party.

NOTE: If you have suggestions for twitter party questions to ask, we are all ears. We want to touch on hot topics and relevant issues along with book recommends and upcoming trends in diverse kidlit. Send an email to Becky@multiculturalchildrensbookday.com with your suggestions and idea for conversation-starting questions for our 2019 Twitter Party.

That is all for now and remember, our official hashtag is #ReadYourWorld. Follow this hashtag on social media to stay informed of event details, author visits and giveaways!

THANK YOU for your continued support!
