Hi All,

I’ll soon be weeding some uncirculated, dated fiction from our collection and wondered how other CT school libraries handled donation of deselected books? Some students in-district are collecting donated books for New Haven Reads (https://newhavenreads.org/). Has anyone donated weeded books to this program before? If so, could you briefly share your experience, please?

Also, ours is an Open Choice-participating school, and an idea surfaced about giving a box of these books to students in this program. Has anyone had success with this before either?

With building principal approval, I’m hoping we can help these weeded books find a second home. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, suggestions and reactions!
