Hello all,

Please do not forget about our own Connecticut Digital Newspaper Project (CDNP) of historical Connecticut newspapers, which is part of the larger freely accessible Chronincling America database from the Library of Congress.  You can see the list of titles already digitized and/or in the works from our CDNP page, as well as teacher history blogs, teacher resources, etc.  CDNP is also accessible from the researchIT CT Newspapers page.

There's a huge digital archive for historical newspapers on Elephind that you might want to take a look at as well:  https://elephind.com/

ResearchIT has a link to ProQuest historical newspapers for The Hartford Courant from 1764-1922. That still leaves a huge gap, but it’s something.

Also, the NYT has allowed unlimited access to their articles from within our building, so as long as students are working here in school, they can search their archives.

Hi!  If you are at a high school, I am wondering what you use for students to access newspapers prior to 1985 (where ResearchIT starts).  Newsbank has gotten very expensive and am looking for alternatives if anyone has any.  THANK YOU!
