Hi Annie,
THANK YOU so much for this information!
I emailed Discover Books on a Friday afternoon and they picked up my weeds that Tuesday. Not having to trip over boxes of books for weeks on end was wonderful.
Everyone on this listserv should print Annie’s email and hang it prominently on their library wall

Thank you Annie! I got in touch with Gary from Discover Books and they’re coming this week!
He told me I could share his direct contact info with all of you:
Gary Parenteau
1-401-408-8606
He is the New England manager and sounded like a really great guy. They resell, donate, or recycle the books.

Hi Danelle,
I just this minute got rid of over 1000 weeded books, including textbooks and encyclopedias. The company took one week from contact to come and the gentleman who helped me toss them in the bins was super. We filled three Gaylords (yes, I didn’t know what that was either).
Discover Books
Good Luck!
Annie

Good afternoon,
Has anyone had success with an organization in the Southern CT area that picks up weeded books? I am thinking maybe for recycling?
I looked up Hartsprings but they don't come to this area.
These are non-fiction books and the content is dated, so I do not think Savers would want them.
I already have enough saved for art projects, so I need these to go.
Thanks for any information you can provide!
