How about The Pursuit of Happyness by Chris Gardner? It says it's recommended for adults. I haven't read it myself, so I'm not sure of the appropriateness.

I just had a student ask me about a book that is about starting at the bottom of a mountain and then you choose which chapter to read next.  Any ideas?
