The Connecticut State Library at 231 Capitol Ave. in Hartford has a subscription to the Historical New York Times (1851-2011) that likely would include the article you are seeking.  It might be necessary to acquire a State Library borrower’s card for remote access to it – you can check with the State Library (860-757-6500 * Toll-free 866-886-4478).  Perhaps also check with your local public library to see whether they have a similar subscription.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [CASL-L] 1944 NY Times Article

Hello-

Does anyone know if we can access an article from 1944? ResearchIT only goes back to 1984. Looking for:

Wallace Defines 'American Fascism'; The Vice President says it pollutes public opinion, encourages intolerance and presents a challenge to our democratic way of life.

Thanks!
