School Library Makerspaces 2.0

You have the school library makerspace in place—now what?? Join us for a tour of an active middle school library makerspace in West Hartford led by teacher librarian, Melissa Thom. Melissa, the vice-president of the Connecticut Association of School Librarians (CASL), has spent the past four years working to make meaningful connections between her library makerspace and curriculum, and growing a “maker mindset” among staff and students. She has been invited to contribute articles to School Library Journal on the topic of making and has hosted webinars, workshops and week-long seminars on library makerspaces on both the state and national level. In a few short years, Melissa has amassed a wealth of makerspace-related knowledge and experience, and a tribe of enthusiastic MakerEd collaborators and supporters who are innovating school libraries and learning across the nation. Melissa will share her best tips and strategies for promoting, funding, scheduling, and ensuring student success!

Due to parking logistics and class sessions, this Roundtable session is limited to 20 attendees. Don’t miss out!
