I connect these activities to picture books in the library…we read a book, “brainstorm” a project (even though I already know what I want them to build) then give them some time to build or tinker

We are looking to do more Makerspace and STEM activities during flex time at our PreK-2 school. I have the following:
I am looking to supplement what we have with additional maker and STEM materials. Any suggestions?
Does anyone have experience with Squishy Circuits, Makey Makey or Make-Do cardboard creations at this level? Any help is appreciated!
