Hi just want to share this news from Bridgeport:

Last Wednesday night, the Bridgeport BOE voted to cut 1/2 of our district's school library media specialists. It failed. The original proposal was, of course, to cut all 23.6 school library positions. Union leadership is aware that this proposal could end up being on the table again.

There is a rally against these and other outrageous budget cuts being planned for tomorrow night at 6:30 at Bridgeport Aquaculture, ahead of the BOE meeting. I have attached a link to a Facebook post about it below. Could you please share it with any area contacts? We hope folks will show up and wear red to protect public school LMS’s and other teachers.

Hi All,

Huge thanks to the many folks who responded to my survey about library position cuts. Your open ended responses were very helpful. I wrote a post about it.
