All,
It's finally reveal time! This is the 9th year for COCBA!
4 fiction and 4 nonfiction.  Satisfying read alouds appropriate for K-3.

We intentionally do not choose authors who have previously won or do we select extremely well known or award-winning titles. We know you will expose your students to those titles.  Once an author wins or is nominated, our hope is that the author is already on your radar and you are looking for their next book!
COCBA is more about finding lesser known, newly published books that can connect to SEL or curriculum; that were designed with many elements of the "Whole Book Approach" and are books that make you think, feel, and wonder.
A few of this year's titles will provoke your students to take action and impact their world whether locally or globally.

All books were published in 2018 or 2019.  Often we will select a title when it is first released and then the buzz will begin to surround it; which is what happened last year with Doll-E-1.0. Already seeing something similar with at least one of our nominees...I'm not saying we caused the buzz...just stating we picked it before it started getting a lot of attention.

I'll link items of interest here although they are linked from the website as well.

Interactive Google Slide Show- select a title from the cover page to go to that book's page of basic resources and then select "home" icon and continue browsing.

Much thanks to the COCBA committee members who dedicated time during the summer months to help find the best compilation of nominees.

It's a labor of love!

Remember to sign-up since future announcements will only go to registrants.
