Hi all,

Pardon the duplication. I happen to have met Marc years ago and I've heard from some of you that he's an excellent guest to have at your school or library. He asked me, and I was willing to post this information for him. He is looking for schools to visit between October 2 and 4, so it's soon!

Watch this YouTube video to see a clip of him.

Here's the blurb he sent. ~ Linda Williams, Retired Youth Services Consultant

"Best author speaker in 30 years" to your school?
Marc Tyler Nobleman, Connecticut native and Maryland author of books for young readers (see titles below) who has been invited to speak at schools in nearly 40 states and a dozen countries, is booking high-interest, high-impact school visits in CT.
Dates:
October 2-4, 2019
January 6-9, 2010
Rate:
$1,250 per school, minimum two schools a day (or $2,500 for up to three talks at one school).
Fear not the short notice of the first set of dates; Marc requires NO student prep work.
This is NOT your typical author visit. Three glimpses of what you'll get:
"In 30 years of hosting best-selling authors, Marc's presentation was the best I have ever witnessed. Judging from the student response, he transformed what it means to be a writer."
—Karen Palko, middle school teacher, International School of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
"I've never seen an author have such an impact as did Marc. And it's all the more surprising because he concentrated on research and the practice of writing. In a grocery store, a colleague overheard a 4th grader heatedly discussing the presentation with his father."
—Lisa Casey, library media specialist, Jamestown School District, RI
"I have known Marc and his work with children in schools for at least eight years and I can tell you with complete honesty that he is the best, the very best, in inspiring children. He is able to empathize with them (and adults, also) to an incredible degree. I cannot recommend him highly enough."
—Susie Mee, Director, Authors Read Aloud (a Learning Leaders program), New York, NY
Marc's book Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman changed history and inspired the feature documentary Batman & Bill (watch trailer), the first film based on a nonfiction picture book. It's making people cry worldwide
Other titles:
  • Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman: multiple starred reviews; ALA Notable; made front page of USA Today
  • The Chupacabra Ate the Candelabra: picture book comedy about the Latino legend; Chicago Tribune: "Fresh, funny, genuinely suspenseful...no weak links here"
  • Thirty Minutes Over Oregon: A Japanese Pilot's World War II Story: true story of the Japanese WWII pilot who bombed the U.S. mainland...and returned 20 years later to apologize; New York Times: "Moving"; Wall Street Journal: "Engrossing and unexpectedly touching"; Kirkus: "Powerful and poignant...a must-read"; Orbis Pictus Honor Book
  • Fairy Spell: How Two Girls Convinced the World That Fairies Are Real: true story of two girls whose WWI-era photos of alleged fairies mystified the world till they were old women; reviews, perhaps like fairies themselves, are glowing
  • Brave Like My Brother: novel about an American soldier in WWII England who shares his war experiences (including a historic, dangerous secret mission) with his 10-year-old brother via letters

"Marc was awesome. I have received a great deal of positive feedback from teachers and students. I am so glad we had him because both assemblies, K-2 and 3-5, were wonderful. He tailors his presentations to meet each age group. Much of what he talks about fits in beautifully with our curriculum, too. He was very easy to work with, and it was a low maintenance presentation. I strongly recommend Marc."
