Sorry for cross posting.

Dear Colleagues:

The Department of Information and Library Science at Southern Connecticut State University has been offering the new Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program over the last three years.  The MLIS program has been in a Candidacy status for ALA accreditation since April 2018.  We are hoping to get full ALA accreditation in June 2020.

If we are to be successful in this endeavor, we must involve a broad spectrum of the Connecticut library community.  You have a stake in the future of our program.  So, I am inviting you to a meeting to share your ideas and comments about the MLIS program with the university administration and the faculty of the department.

We have scheduled a Stakeholder Meeting for:

            Date:               Friday, October 18th, 2019

            Time:               10:30 am – 2:00 pm

Place:              Adanti Student Center Ballroom A (Third Floor)

Address:          501 Crescent St., New Haven

Lunch will be provided. Directions to the University and a campus map are available at http://www.southernct.edu/about/directions.html.  The Adanti Student Center is Building 15.  Parking will be available in Wintergreen Avenue Garage (Building 38 on the campus map).

Please RSVP by October 10th to the Information and Library Science Department Secretary, Kay Opalenik at opalenikk1@southernct.edu or 203-392-5781.

I hope you will be able to join us.

Sincerely,

Hak Joon
