Hi all - Melissa Stewart has just posted her blog post about the Sibert Smackdown, an activity that gets your students (and teachers!) reading some amazing informational texts. Although Melissa recommends grades 3-8, I've worked with students in 1st and 2nd grade too. It fits nicely with some of the Reading Units of Study they do at this time of year.
