Hello Library Friends,

Google is sponsoring $300 grants for libraries to host 2 CS First activities and the applications for funding are open now!

“In advance of Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek), an annual event to get students excited about coding, ALA will be awarding $300 mini-grants to school and public libraries that facilitate a program for youth during Computer Science Education Week, December 9-15, 2019, using Google’s CS First Hour of Code activity.”

You can read all about it on the Ready to Code website http://www.ala.org/tools/readytocode/minigrant and please consider applying. The deadline is November 18th but I promise the application is straightforward and I hear the activity this year is a lot of fun (Code your Hero).

The $300 can be used for anything in the spirit of supporting computational thinking activities for your teens- so you can be as creative as you like!

Best of luck.

Best,
Kym
