A fiction book that I liked is Thanksgiving at the Tappletons' (not the version with wolves as the characters) by Eileen Spinelli, Jerry Spinelli's wife.

I just used Duck for Turkey Day (Jules, Jacqueline) with 1st graders. I liked it because it showed that people celebrate the holiday by eating different kinds of food - and that's ok. The main character is Vietnamese, and her family has a different tradition. The students loved it!

I am seeking recommendations for Thanksgiving themed books (fact or fiction) for the preK-4 age group that don't glorify the colonists at the expense of the native peoples.  I am also looking for suggested books to update my American Indian books which are very old, and I am afraid are not culturally accurate.
