If you are looking for fun, interactive PD to kick off the new year, my graduate students and I developed a free open online course called "Teaching & Learning with Current & Emerging Technologies."
The course features 3 modules: Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and 3D Printing & Modeling. Each module consists of a variety of activities, content, and multimedia to expand your knowledge and skills related to these three technologies.
The course will be launching on Monday, January 13 and remain open for 6 weeks (until February 28). The course is self-paced and you can choose whether to complete 1, 2, or all 3 learning modules.
COURSE LOGISTICS
- Each module should take approximately 3-5 hours to complete.
- You can complete each module in a single setting or over multiple days/weeks.
- If you complete all three modules, you will receive an ISTE Teacher Education Network Certificate of Participation (10 hours)
- You will need a Twitter login to participate in many of the course activities using the hashtag #ARVR3D.
COURSE SIGN UP
To enroll in the open online course, please fill out the course sign up form. At the end of the form, you will be asked whether you want to be part of a research study for the course (filling out pre-/post-course surveys). This study will help me evaluate the effectiveness of this course and identify ways to improve teacher learning and support with technology.
