Looking for free online history resources to use with students?
The CT State Library has been digitizing historic CT newspapers for the past six years, as part of the National Digital Newspaper Program funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. These newspapers
are made freely available through the Library of Congress' Chronicling America
web site: https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/ and through our project web site:
https://ctdigitalnewspaperproject.org/ where you will also find a tab for "Resources for Teachers", "Blogs", etc." On the Chronicling America site, besides being able to search Connecticut and 47 other
states’ and territories’ papers, you will also find a link on the left of the main screen for
Recommended Topics that you could use, such as the long list of topics in the
Women's History subject category. Enjoy!
